When I was a little girl, my grandpa would sit and tell me about his blackbird ... And Grandpa's blackbird was always right. "My big blackbird watches over you when I am not there and then flies to my house to tell me all the good things that you are doing," Grandpa said. Sometimes ... I catch a glimpse of a dark bird flying high in the sky, or perching atop a tall tree. Sometimes I see just the shadow of a bird on the ground as it crosses the backyard in flight. Other times I just hear the "caw" of a bird off in the distance. ABOUT THE AUTHOR... Charity A.
